OneBus is a website that allows the user to find POI (Places of Interest) that they can travel to using one bus. The bus stop and POI are queried to be within walking distance (~500m). The site will also provide information about the POI and also an estimated transit travel time.
Current stack:
Backend: Flask, pandas
Frontend: Javascript
I am looking for someone with UX Design experience. The role would involve making guidelines on how to best display the POI for the user and how to logically "ask" the user for their input (bus number, bus stop etc.)
In addition, the designer can also input their own ideas on what type of data/information might be most useful for a potential user.
Timeframe
No rush to have this filled, but ideally sometime in May would be good, there are currently a few issues with the data caching and data analysis portion that need fixing. That said, I am more than happy to discuss about the project in detail.
The commitment of this role can vary to the individual. At the very least I would like someone to give general guidelines/drafts on how they would like the site to look like.
On the flip side I am also more than happy to closely collaborate with a designer and brainstorm what other use cases this website might be able to serve and how best to visualize/build them.
Directly message 'Martin Liu' on the Open Austin Slack, or post about your interest in the '#p-onebus' channel within the same Slack server. Alternatively, reach out to any server admins about your interest in the project.
