There should be a way to accept trailing slash - https://github.com/olivere/elastic/blob/release-branch.v7/canonicalize.go#L29

Please describe the actual behavior

https://elastic.search.test.com/es/ - My elastic URL looks like this and only return success if a trailing slash is present, since your code listed above is removing trailing slash, its timing out and give invalid response. Is there a way to customise this or fix the part where atleast one trailing slash is deemed valid
