Before going further

  • I think my problem is NOT with youtube-dl
  • I've verified and i assure that I'm running yt-dlg 1.X.Y
  • I assure that i am using the latest version of youtube-dl
  • Searched bugtracker

Bug report

If the problem occurs when downloading a URL please provide the full verbose output as follows:

  1. Restart yt-dlg
  2. Go to Options > Extra tab
  3. Enable Debug youtube-dl
  4. Go to Options > Advanced tab and Clear your log content
  5. Try to download the URL
  6. Copy the whole log content and insert it between the ``` part below
delete me and insert your log content here

What operating system do you use ?

Windows 11

List of actions to perform to reproduce the problem:

  1. ..Found an update from "https://github.com/oleksis/youtube-dl-gui/releases"
  2. ..Download the latest update
  3. ..Windows Security keep removing the file and said that it was infected by a virus.

What is the expected behaviour ?

My computer is in corporate security. I don't think security is being disabled or compromised.

What happens instead ?

Was this a false positive and how to fix this?

What operating system do you use ?

Windows 11

Read this comment to check how Microsoft check the releases

You can install yt-dlg from Microsoft Store
