Currently it's only possible to send a reply to a single e-mail address. Having an option to include extra emails via Cc would help to keep all the relevant contacts in the loop, which should help to get a response faster.
Hi! Thank you for your suggestion. I am a bit torn with this one. While I do believe this is a useful feature for certain users who are mindful of who they write to, a lot of rather inexperienced users might use this feature by default, spamming authorities where it's not needed and maybe even creating more work on the authorities' side.
I would suggest to make it behave like the reply all button of any e-mail software (include the CCs from the email you are replying to by default). I believe that's considered general good practice. And authorities should expect replies to CC contacts which they added in the first place. If they just want to include someone for internal purposes, they can use BCC.
Allowing users to add CC addresses on their own, certainly should be considered more carefully (possible spam abuse). Some kind of reputation system or extra verification probably would be needed.
