Upgrading from v2024.10 to v2024.11 in Lockdown mode can fail

Shortly after the release of v2024.11, an issue was identified that could affect users upgrading from v2024.10 to v2024.11 while in Lockdown mode. This results in the v2024.10 Santa daemon still running and providing protection, however other Santa components would be blocked from executing. This leaves the machine in a partially upgraded state.

The issue is addressed in v2024.12. We encourage users to upgrade as soon as possible.

Remediation Steps

If you already upgraded from v2024.10 to v2024.11

You must:

1. Do ONE of the following:
   • Add a TeamID rule for North Pole Security (ZMCG7MLDV9) via a StaticRule MDM configuration profile
   • OR Reboot the machine
2. Install v2024.12 to get back into a good state.

If you are still on v2024.10

Your install is fine and you can upgrade to v2024.12 as you normally would.

If you are on Google Santa

You can migrate to the latest version v2024.12 by following the Migration Guide.
