WebExtension version #21
Comments
Re-pagination is a "must-have" addon for me, I hope you can make it compatible with Firefox 57 ! |
@Mathnerd314 Since your fork of the repo doesn't have an Issues tab, I'll ask it here: could you link us to a compiled xpi of your version of this addon? And perhaps comment on the AMO page about your version of the addon, which will give it much more visibility? It was only a stroke of luck that I found this myself, most other users are probably left thinking there's no real alternative now. |
@digital-carver Here: https://github.com/Mathnerd314/repagination/releases/tag/2017.09.14. You'll need to enable unsigned extensions, there's some pref in about:config. I'm not sure I want the visibility, I doubt anybody will come along and help me develop it. |
Thank you very much for the xpi release. It looks like from Firefox 48 and above, "Release and Beta versions of Firefox for Desktop will not allow unsigned extensions to be installed, with no override" - the about:config override has also apparently been removed (and I've tested that changing the pref has no effect.) But I'm about to try out Waterfox as an alternative soon, and will have a chance to use your updated version of the addon in it. Thanks again! |
My version is on AMO now: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/re-pagination-webext-fork/ |
I modified the addon to be a WebExtension, in my branch/fork:
https://github.com/Mathnerd314/repagination/
It works alright for my use cases (main limited / load all functionality), but I haven't tested the slideshow stuff or gotten the options page to work yet.
I guess you're the author of http://www.downthemall.net/re-downthemall-and-webextensions-or-why-why-i-am-done-with-mozilla/; reading that I'm still not sure if repagination is one of the extensions you want to keep maintaining, but if you're not maintaining it it probably makes sense to transfer maintainership over to me.
