elinks doesn't check validity of SSL certificates #1

Hi,

Someone recently posted to the elinks-dev list with a report that elinks doesn't check SSL certificates:

I've verified that elinks-0.11.7 indeed does not check the certs.

Is there any ongoing work to patch this and make a new stable release?

A patch was posted on the list in 2015, but it looks like it never hit the tree:
