Because anyone can run a data center node. However residential nodes are harder to onboard and are in demand since they can unlock more content that would be block if you were using a data center node.

  1. User can choose if they wants to connect using data center IP or home IP:
  2. Data center nodes are cheaper to use

Less demands, less costs, they will earn way less.
