When I leave my PC idle for a short period, it automatically goes to the lock screen, which is expected and completely fine. However, if I leave it idle for a longer duration, the display eventually goes to sleep. The problem arises when I try to wake the system up by pressing keys on the keyboard or moving the mouse, rather than being taken back to the lock screen, I see the desktop as it was before, but everything appears frozen. The only thing that responds is the mouse cursor, which I can move, but no applications or UI elements respond to any input.
I would really appreciate any help or guidance on how to troubleshoot or resolve this issue.
P.S. This is my first time using Linux, so please bear with me if I’ve missed something basic.
