Having spent a long time updating this project and finding that it has a heap of bugs and instabilities, is difficult to develop, etc, I then stumbled upon WLED.
WLED is far more advanced, feature rich and stable, though the DMX features aren't quite as good (no RDM).
Trust me, you won't look back!
My fork of this project has many updates but I still wouldn't trust it.
M Tong still deserves a lot of credit for his work though. I suspect this project inspired WLED and a lot of code has been borrowed and changed beyond recognition.
Thanks!
Top tip: The softAP mode of the ESP8266 does not perform anywhere near as well as when connected to a WiFi network (STA or client mode). If you're having performance problems, try that!
