A few improvements

Hi,

thanks for this mini-project, which started off my own effort. Now I'd like to contribute back. The highlights of my approach are:

• no sudo
  • this fixes Consider using sudo: false which allows to use container-based travis infrastructure #6
• almost all code moved to a dedicated script
  • this allows to test the script locally and also looks much prettier

Thanks for your contribution. 👍 I like the idea of moving it out of .travis.yml but your solution would require every overlay owner to create a separate directory and a separate file, which some probably do not like. Still, I'd be happy to integrate your solution into .travis.yml if this is possible. What do you think?

Well, your current .travis.yml already downloads external code from your repository, so you may just add install_portage.sh as another dependency.
