I'm sure modrinth won't add comments, and this is good. If you take a look at CurseForge or MCPEDL, for example, you can see most people don't actually comment useful things to the project, and it would be a pain to moderate.

If modrinth would add comments, 90% of the comments would be:

"1.12 pls"
"when [latest version that came half an hour ago"
"1.8 pls"
"your mod is bad it doesn't work [FULL CRASH LOGS]"
"forge pls"
