I'm new to mitmproxy and I reached out to mhils with some questions and he recommended asking here. So, here are a few questions that I hope someone will be kind enough to take a moment to answer:
Has anyone done venify integration to your knowledge?
Once the traffic is intercepted and decrypted in the proxy, how do we ‘tee’ it off in the form of a tap/out-of-band copy?
How much of mitmproxy’s ‘live’ behavior can be controlled by API without having to restart the proxy?
How should we manage the certificate store when there are hundreds of host certificates for a large server farm?
When used as a forward proxy, we typically think of two CA being needed on the service,
- one for ‘valid’ cert generation using an internal ‘intermediate root’ CA certificate (often from the IT department of the customer)
- one for invalid responses from the remote certificate – expired, invalid signature, CRL, etc. – We’d like to be able to manage those responses.
- How are the two CA managed, and how can the certs be rotated?
