Specifications

Welcome to the FAST DNA specifications!

This wiki makes available a process to turn proposals into standards. Standards can then be used as a reference point for code to be committed, it can also serve as reference for implementations of FAST DNA concepts. These may or may not directly tie into code, but should provide guidance on expectations for how to approach development into the various projects in the repository.

Contributing a new specification

1. Submit an issue

Submit an issue and tag the issue with the label "proposal". This will open up the discussion to the community as to whether the contributors idea belongs in FAST DNA.

2. Create a page

Once the issue has been confirmed as an acceptable addition to FAST DNA, create a new page in the wiki where the specification can live. This should start off as a draft, which can be denoted in the title by prepended with the text "[DRAFT]".

3. Iterate on the specification

Using the initial issue, continue the discussion in the thread and update the specification with any accepted feedback. Continue this until a consensus has been reached.

4. Finalizing the specification

Remove the "[DRAFT]" text from the title and add the text "1.0" to the end of the title.
