I would like to have a feature where you can remap a side buttons of a mouse without using or having the proprietary software of those mouse, or for the mouse that is not that expensive but has side buttons and have no remapping software.
Scenario when this would be used?
My idea is this the mouse side button can be remapped as:
A shortcut like “alt + enter” to open the property of the file or “ctrl + p” to print a document without doing the hand gymnastics
A way to type a keyboard key that would be helpful in (a) in game uses like the “enter or /” button to open chat or the “f” key to pick up items in game
A directional buttons (arrow up, arrow down etc) for navigating the system
Supporting information
I believe that it’s possible to implement this as the developers already implemented keyboard remapper, and this would further reduce the amount of software running in the background as powertoys is like a program where a lot of features are unified into one program running in the background
