Support for CheckMK

Hey Guys, been trying a while now, but couldnt find any answer or any other users that had the same problem.

We currently use a Librenms with the nrpe integration, and i saw that the code already contains the Classes for the CheckMK Server and the CheckMK Client. But i failed to build those dll's and i couldnt find any release that contains those dll's.

Any advice or informations about the current state of the CheckMK-Server/Client or how i would be able to build them?

This is something that was disabled to speedup getting 0.6.x out and working properly.
So this is planned, that said I assume that the check_mk protocol might have drifted since I added it so I would likely have to revisit check_mk to see how well the old support still works.

If you could explain a bit what you would like to use check_mk support for that would be helpful.

Hey, thanks for your quick reply. We are currently using Librenms SNMP to poll most of the Data of our Devices.
But for advanced Monitoring such as Processes / Other Apps / Updatestatus, we need the CheckMK Agent to gather this type of data.

The official Librenms CheckMK Agent is about 9 Years old, and thats too old for an enterprise Software in a company enviroment.

I currently use the new CheckMK Agent from the official CheckMK, which works good enough after changing the default configuration.

This means, i always need to setup a full Docker CheckMK Server to get the newest Agent for Windows, because CheckMK Does not publish the Windows Agent on their site.

i think for Librenms legacy CheckMK Agent, it would be enough to just build the CheckMK dll's again.

The official CheckMK Agent might have had some protocol changes, but for most projects the old CheckMK Class should still work.

Its not that important, since there is the workaround with the new CheckMK Agent, but i thought i should let you know that many old projects are using the basic CheckMK protocol and it shouldnt be too much work to get it back to work.

I have added back the experimental check_mk support now in https://github.com/mickem/nscp/releases/tag/0.6.12
As I said I will investigate the status i.e. how it actually works towards a check_mk classic system then.

If you want to tinker with it you can try the new version and tinker with scripts\default_ckeck_mk.lua you should be able to both call check_mk and act as a server for others calling it.
But as I also said limited in what data it currently returns, but that could be easily extended...
