Media View is very slow

Running on a Google Pixel 8 Pro, the media view takes 10x as long as the standard view to load the thumbnails, and a further 10x longer to open the images / videos.

I emailed your support team already and they presented me with solutions that I had already tried numerous times. I see no other cause than an app issue.
