When MCUBOOT_DOWNGRADE_PREVENTION is enabled, it is still possible to indefinitely replay an upgrade. While this is not a vulnerability by itself, it can be seen as a weakness which might ease fuzzing attacks, side channel attacks targeting the FW encryption key, or the exploitation of buffer overflows. Is there any reason behind this design choice ?
