Newlines filtered out of bio text

Steps to reproduce the problem

1. Edit bio text in Mastodon mobile app, add some newlines
2. View bio in web interface
3. Newlines are filtered out, text is joined together

See my bio at @[email protected] , looks fine in the app but all the lines of the poem I put there are joined together in the web interface

Web interface should include newlines as

Newlines are filtered out, lines are fused together

See "steps to reproduce", I have a poem in my bio so need to use newlines. Works fine in the mobile app. But the web interface filters them out.

Hi! I checked your profile and it seems the newlines were delimited by the U+2028 line separator, which is unusual.

Did you do anything special when inputting this poem?

I'll forward this issue to the mobile apps developers (I assume you are using the official iOS app? feel free to correct me if that's not the case!) to see if they have more insight.

Yes, I used the standard iOS app to edit my bio. Can't think that I did anything special. To end lines, I used the "return" key at the bottom right of the standard iOS on-screen keyboard.

But when I try it now, it seems to work differently than when I first entered it. Perhaps something has changed in the app. When I use the return key now, it seems to enter a larger vertical space after the line, like a paragraph separator. And where I had simply two newlines before, there is now this "extra large" vertical space instead. I can't seem to add regular newlines any more.

But as I said, in an earlier version that I used to set this (about a year ago?) this was different.
