Draft a post with a link to a page that would typically generate a preview (if it was posted in a regular post with no content warning)
Add a content warning
Submit the post
Wait for the preview to be generated
Wait forever, because no preview is ever generated
...
Expected behaviour
a preview should be generated for a link whether or not the post has a content warning
Actual behaviour
no link previews are generated for posts that use content warnings
Detailed description
Link previews should be generated for links in posts whether or not the post uses a content warning.
Content warnings should already conceal the content of the post, including any preview, so there's no reason not to display the preview — it will only be visible to users who have chosen to expand the post.
Not generating link previews for links in posts with content warnings discourages users from using content warnings, as their posts look better without them. In the case of embedded content like YouTube videos, this is even more pronounced.
Use of content warnings is positive behaviour that should be encouraged and rewarded, not deterred by making posts that use them less visually appealing, engaging and functional.
