Update on shutdown

I'd like to enable automatic updates, but I don't want updates to happen while I'm using the computer, having the to-be-updated software running. Is it possible to have UniGetUI run through the automatic update process on shutdown?

Any ideas on how to accomplish the same thing? I could map the shutdown button in the start menu into launching UniGetUI, which could then look for updates and automatically update. But I'm not sure how to make the computer then shutdown.

I'm just trying to minimize the manual maintenance needed on friends' and family's computers.

I am not aware of any way to running things before shutdown externally... Perhaps via task scheduler?

I mean if I map the shutdown button to run some custom commands, like

UniGetUI.exe --auto-update --minimized --shutdown

which would launch the program minimized to tray (if it isn't already running), automatically run all updates, and then shut down the computer. Or

UniGetUI.exe --auto-update --minimized --close
shutdown /s

which would do the same, but UniGetUI just closes itself and the shutdown comes from the second command. This way I could also add other things to the chain if I want.

--run-once could be a shorthand for --auto-update --minimized --close.
--shutdown and --close could be baked into a --when-done x, where x is shutdown, reboot or close.

These are just random thoughts, and there are multiple ways to accomplish the same thing. Just asking for any way to make this possible.

This would also make it possible to schedule the updates via task scheduler to certain specific times, instead of having it run on an interval where you have little control over when the interval countdown starts.
