Cursor jumps to the top of the view pane when navigating past the end of file #1086

To recreate:

  1. open a file
  2. navigate to the last character G$
  3. try to move to the next character l
  4. cursor jumps to the top of the window rather than staying in place

Commit c22b2c2 seems to be where this appeared.
