Max wondered whether changing the input labels on the ISIS Reflectometry GUI to be right-aligned might be helpful as it would ensure that all of the labels are close to their corresponding input/checkbox. This would be done across all tabs where the input/checkbox label is positioned to the left hand side of the control.

This issue is to investigate whether this change would be a good thing to do based on the following:

  • Checking that instrument scientists agree that the appearance/usability is better for them when the labels are right-aligned.
  • Checking if there are any UI design standards that might inform the decision about this.
  • Confirming that this is a very quick change to implement, as it's not considered high priority.
