Please consider that the time maintainers spend helping out individual users reduces the time they have left developing new features and fixing known issues that potentially affect many more users.
That being said, providing support can also be an opportunity to learn what areas users are having difficulties with and to improve the functionality and documentation accordingly. Of course you can only take advantage of past documentation efforts if you actually consult the existing documentation.
So please, if you haven't done that yet, then consult the documentation now.
The manual is available online and in Emacs with M-x magit-info RET.
The manuals for related packages can be found here.
Your favorite niche in the wider Emacs community is also bound to have a few Magit experts.
If you decide to ask for help here, then use the Q&A category.
How to ask for help
Please provide useful information up front, such as the output of M-x magit-version RET.
If you open a support request instead of a bug report because you are unsure whether some error is due to a bug in Magit or an issue with your setup, then you should never-the-less follow our instructions on how to report a bug.
Helping others
When you see others asking for help with Magit, here or elsewhere, then please consider providing that support. By doing that you don't only help an individual user but anyone else who might later come across your answer. Your contribution also helps us maintainers, and ultimately all users, by letting us focus more on development than support.
