On Linux, it seems to me that more and more installs are taking advantage of ~/.config/ and ./local/. I'm wondering if t would be good to migrate -- possibly with symlinks during transition for backwards compatibility
from ~/.luarocks/config-5.4.lua to ~/.config/luarocks.lua
from ~/.luarocks/lib/ to ~/.local/ib/luarocks/
from ~/.luarocks/share/ to ~/.local/share/luarocks/
from ~/.luarocks/bin/ and ~/.local/bin/luarocks/
etc., etc.
