Feature Request: Userspace local directory restructure?

• Description:
  • On Linux, it seems to me that more and more installs are taking advantage of ~/.config/ and ./local/. I'm wondering if t would be good to migrate -- possibly with symlinks during transition for backwards compatibility
    • from ~/.luarocks/config-5.4.lua to ~/.config/luarocks.lua
    • from ~/.luarocks/lib/ to ~/.local/ib/luarocks/
    • from ~/.luarocks/share/ to ~/.local/share/luarocks/
    • from ~/.luarocks/bin/ and ~/.local/bin/luarocks/
    • etc., etc.

Thanks for sharing the thoughts, I've been thinking about that as well. Probably a LuaRocks 4 thing!
