User Password?

Thank you for making this excellent emulator.

I installed Darkstar then downloaded the HD image: ViewPoint-2.0-11-9-1990-18-38.img. I set the TOD date and time to the image's date and time (11-9-1990 18-38). When the VP boots, it asks for username and password. The user "user.star.xerox" is already defined in the image, but the password is unknown!

I tried these passwords, but none of them granted me access: user, star, xerox, foo, elf, wizard

By the way, when changing the TOD date, the VP gives the option to define a new user, but then no program works! For example, when trying to load Calculator or Document Editor, it asks to enable software options, but all choices in Software Options window are disabled!

Sorry for the delayed response! The password for user.star.xerox on that image should just be "password" -- let me know if that doesn't work, meanwhile I'll make a note to update the documentation! Thanks, Josh

Yes, password is the correct password for the user user:star:xerox.

I was able to login, but couldn't run any application! The VP asks to enable the 'software option' prior to loading any application, but all choices in the "Software Options" window are disabled!

I'm wondering if the applications are already installed in the HD image; or do I need to install them first?

Ok, I figured out how to enable software options :) It's already mentioned in the readme file! Just set the TOD to a day on Dec 1997 and use the provided password.

I have tried "Darkstar". It is a great software.

There is one problem.

I cannot run "VP Document Editor" on hard disk image "ViewPoint-2.0-11-9-1990-18-38.img".

Using the password "8 7T78 M8YL LFEQ" in "Set Software Options" does not work.

Starting ViewPoint with the date "1-Dec-97 0:00:00" does not work.

I did the "Store Options" according to the "Store Options" and it worked.
