Although we'll continue to monitor the [email protected] mailing list, it's pretty clear from the numbers (see attached figure) that it's not really a method that people want to use for asking questions/discussion, and this is understandable since there's no way to tag people or quickly link mailing list discussion threads to PRs/issues. Since it can also be daunting to open a formal Issue when you just have a quick question or comment, Discussions seem like a good solution to all of these issues.
