* Download and install Visual C++ 2008 Express
* Download and install CMake 2.8.2:
http://www.cmake.org/files/v2.8/cmake-2.8.2-win32-x86.exe
* Download OpenCV 2.1 "win.zip" version, not "win32-vs2008": http://sourceforge.net/projects/opencvlibrary/files/opencv-win/2.1/OpenCV-2.1.0-win.zip/download
- Unzip to d:\src\OpenCV-2.1.0
* Open CMake
- "Where is the source code: " -> D:/src/OpenCV-2.1.0
- "WHere to build the binaries: " -> D:/src/OpenCV-2.1.0/build
- Configure, Yes to create the directory,
- "Specify the generator for this project" Visual Studio 9 2008
- Configure again, options should no longer be red.
- Generate
* In Visual C++, open d:\src\OpenCV-2.1.0\build\OpenCV.sln
- Build Menu -> Configuration Manager, change "Active solution configuration" to "Release"
- BUild Menu -> Build Solution
- Build should finish "22 succeeded, 0 failed, 2 up-to-date, 3
skipped"
* Add OpenCV to your system path:
- Start menu -> Right Click on "Computer" -> Properties
- On the left, select "Advanced system settings"
- Environment Variables
- Under System Variables (at the bottom), click New
- Select the "Path" variable and click "Edit"
- VERY CAREFULLY add ";D:\src\OpenCV-2.1.0\build\bin\Release" to
the end of the list (note the semicolon)
* Download and install wxWidgets (wxMSW): http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/wxwindows/wxMSW-2.8.11-Setup.exe
- At prompt "Setup will install wxWidgets into the following
folder", enter d:\src\wxWidgets-2.8.11
* In Visual C++, open d:\src\wxWidgets-2.8.11\build\msw\wx.vcxproj
- When prompted to convert projects to Visual C++ 2008, select "Yes to all"
- Open d:\src\wxWidgets-2.8.11\include\wx\msw\setup0.h and change the line
"#define wxUSE_GLCANVAS 0" to "#define wxUSE_GLCANVAS 1"
- Do the same for d:\src\wxWidgets-2.8.11\wx\msw\setup.h
- Make sure to save both files.
- Build Menu -> Configuration Manager, change "Active solution configuration" to "Release"
- BUild Menu -> Build Solution
- Build should finish "20 succeeded, 0 failed, 0 up-to-date, 0
skipped"
* Add the WXWIN environment variable:
- Start menu -> Right Click on "Computer" -> Properties
- On the left, select "Advanced system settings"
- Environment Variables
- Under System Variables (at the bottom), click New
- Variable name: "WXWIN"
- Variable value: "d:\src\wxWidgets-2.8.11"
* OPTIONAL: For Allied Vision Tech camera support on Win64, download
the updated FirePackage from
http://www.intek-darmstadt.de/FirePackage64_2v34.zip
* Download and unzip MADTraC (or svn checkout) to d:\src\MADTraC\
* Open CMake
- "Where is the source code: " -> D:/src/MADTraC
- "WHere to build the binaries: " -> D:/src/MADTraC/build
- Configure, Yes to create the directory,
- "Specify the generator for this project" Visual Studio 9 2008
- OPTIONAL:
+ Check MT_DEBUG_CONSOLE to enable a text window for "printf" output
+ Uncheck BUILD_ROBOT if you don't need it
+ Check WITH_AVT for Allied Vision Tech (e.g. Guppy) camera support
- Configure again, possibly a couple times, until no options are red
- Generate
* In Visual C++, open d:\src\MADTraC\build\MADTraC.sln
- Build Menu -> Configuration Manager, change "Active solution configuration" to "Release"
- BUild Menu -> Build Solution
- Build should finish "4 succeeded, 0 failed, 1 up-to-date, 1 skipped"
To build an app, for example CameraUtility:
* Open CMake
- "Where is the source code: " -> D:/src/MADTraC/apps/CameraUtility
- "WHere to build the binaries: " -> D:/src/MADTraC/apps/CameraUtility/build
- Configure, Yes to create the directory,
- "Specify the generator for this project" Visual Studio 9 2008
- There Will almost certainly be an error. This is expected.
- Under "Ungrouped Entries" change "MT_ROOT" to "d:\src\MADTraC\build" (the "build" part is very important!)
- Configure again, possibly a couple times, until no options are red
- Generate
* In Visual C++, open d:\src\MADTraC\apps\CameraUtility\build\CameraUtility.sln
- Build Menu -> Configuration Manager, change "Active solution configuration" to "Release"
- BUild Menu -> Build Solution
- Build should finish "1 succeeded, 0 failed, 1 up-to-date, 0 skipped"
- Right click on "CameraUtility" in Solution Explorer and select "Set as startup project"
- When prompted about debug information say "Yes" (you can select "Don't show this dialog again")
