Can't apply Timecode+ Markers to existing clips #27
Comments
Chris! I isolated this Marker Toolbox “bug”. I don’t know if you remember, but I couldn’t get it to transfer Timecode+ markers to an existing clip or multicam clip in Final Cut Pro. I’ve isolated the cause! It was user error, but I could see this being a common mistake if you feel like addressing it somehow: It was a discrepancy between the starting timecode in Timecode+ VS the default starting timecode that multicam clips inherit in Final Cut Pro. I always configure Timecode+ notes to start at 00:00:00:00, but when Final Cut Pro creates a multicam clip the starting timecode is automatically inherited from the native timecode of the first clip. In order for Marker Toolbox to work correctly, I must manually set new multicam clips to begin at 00:00:00:00 (or whatever arbitrary timecode was logged by Timecode+ when creating the notes). Alternatively, I could have matched the camera timecode on the Timecode+ side (but I need it zeroed). |
