MacOS version is damaged (CrossOver-3.3.4-arm64.dmg)

Describe the issue

I get the following error on M3 MacOS when trying to open CrossOver:

"CrossOver" is damaged and can't be opened. You should move it to the Trash.

Just to confirm, the file was downloaded and dragged into the Applications folder before attempting to open.

yeah i got the same error, tried previous versions, still got the same error saying the app/file is damaged and cant be opened
