On phones with a barometer, the weather monitor can be used. Currently sea level calibration uses a Kalman filter to try and smooth out the readings as you change elevation (elevation has a strong impact on pressure readings). I'm working on a new calibrator that uses the LOESS algorithm for smoothing. I found that LOESS gives a much smoother chart and is easier to implement.
How to enable
I recommend trying it on on version 4.6.0 or higher (prior to that, it either didn't exist or had trouble with elevation changes).
Open Trail Sense Settings
Click on Experimental
Enable Sea level calibration V2
Go back to Trail Sense Settings
Click on Sensors
Click on Barometer
Enable Sea level pressure
Adjust the smoothing values as needed (the chart will show up if the weather monitor is active or you've visited the weather tab several times in the last day) - I have mine set to elevation 0%, pressure 15% on v4.6.0
Feedback
I'm looking for the following feedback:
What elevation smoothing % are you using?
What pressure smoothing % are you using?
Do you find it properly calibrates the pressure as you change locations?
How closely does it match you local weather station's sea-level pressure readings?
How does it compare to the current sea level pressure calibrator?
What frequency do you have the weather monitor running at? (ex. every 30 minutes)
