  1. mac isnt linux.
  2. No, this is designed for windows. https://stackoverflow.com/questions/31374085/installing-adb-on-mac-os-x

Just download the latest platform tools from https://dl.google.com/android/repository/platform-tools-latest-darwin.zip & extract it to the desired location.

Add the path to the ~/.profile
or enter the following on the terminal
echo "export PATH=$PATH:"

Restart the terminal & check. adb should work fine without need of any additional drivers.
