I was thinking about allowing users to bind actions to back (i.e. treat back as a normal gesture). However I need to make sure that the settings can always be reached.

For gesture navigation I coud disable the back gesture when the corresponding action is set to "do nothing". (see setSystemGestureExclusionRects)
