Windows 10 App Essentials 17.04.1
Hi,
Windows 10 App Essentials 17.04.1 is now available. If you are using Skype universal app, please install this version due to changes introduced in the app itself.
Note: Support for Version 1511 (build 10586) from this add-on will end in August or once Version 1703 (Creators Update/build 15063) is declared business ready, whichever happens later.
Changelog:
- Skype app keyboard shortcuts has changed in order to avoid conflicts with commands introduced in March 2017 update. The new commands are: Alt+1 for conversations, Alt+2 for contacts, Alt+3 for bots, and Alt+4 to go to chat edit field if visible (the last command works if the add-on is installed).
- Updated translations.

Windows 10 App Essentials 17.03.2 is now available. Highlights of this release include minor fixes for Edge and other apps.

- Thanks to work from Microsoft, Windows Defender Secur3ity Center workaround is no longer required. Consequently, the app module for this app has been removed.
- in Creators Update, NVDA will no longer announce "WebRuntime Content View" when moving to another site.
- When viewing results from Start search box, NVDA will no longer announce items twice.
- In Settings app, more combo box labels are announced.

I'm delighted to announce the immediate release of Windows 10 App Essentials 17.03. If you are using version 17.02, go ahead and check for add-on update (NVDA menu/Preferences/Windows 10 App Essentials, then Update).
Changelog:
- Improved update download and installation experience: no longer need to respond to a browser window, and no more installation prompts.
- In Maps app, when street view is active and "use keyboard" option is enabled, NVDA will announce street addresses as you use arrow keys to navigate a map.
- Improved support for newer style time picker controls found in Creators Update and February 2017 update to Alarms and Clock app.
- In Settings, added labels for certain combo boxes, Bluetooth passcode field in Devices/Bluetooth (Devices/Bluetooth and other devices in Creators Update) and Game Bar key assignment grid (Gaming/Game Bar in Creators Update).
- In Settings app, new values are now announced for certain combo boxes.
- Removed app modules for Bank of America, TeamViewer Touch and Twitter.

Hi Windows 10 users,
Windows 10 App Essentials 17.02 is now available. Highlights of this release include additions to Skype, Windows Store, Mail app, and ability to check for add-on updates.
Important: Windows 10 App Essentials 17.02 requires NVDA 2016.4 or later.
Changelog:
- Added ability to check for add-on updates (automatic or manual) via the new Windows 10 App Essentials dialog found in NvDA Preferences menu. By default, stable and development versions will check for new updates automatically on a weekly or daily basis, respectively.
- Support for Windows Defender Security Center in build 15007 or later. Windows Defender in build 14986 is also supported.
- NVDA can announce suggestion count when performing a search in majority of cases. This option is controlled by "Report object position information" in Object presentation dialog.
- Mail: When reviewing items in messages list, you can now use table navigation commands to review message headers.
- Skype Preview: NVDA will no longer announce "Skype Message" when reviewing messages for majority of cases.
- Store: When downloading content such as apps and movies, NVDA will announce product name and download progress.

Windows 10 App Essentials 17.01
Hi everyone,
Windows 10 App Essentials january 2017 stable build is now live. This release includes improved support for Store app and other enhancements.
Important: this is the last version of this add-on to support NVDA 2016.3 or earlier. Starting from WinTenApps 17.02, NVDA 2016.4 will be required. Also, if you are using Windows Insider build 15002 or later, you should not use this release - you should use the latest development snapshot or wait until add-on 17.02 comes out.
Changelog:
- In Settings app, settings groups are recognized when using object navigation to navigate between controls.
- In Store app, appearance of search suggestions are now announced.

Hi everyone,
Windows 10 App Essentials 16.12.2 is now available. This release features initial support for the new universal app version of Windows Defender (included in Insider Preview build 14986 and later), enhanced support for time pickers and related controls and more.
Few important notes:
- This is the last stable version for year 2016.
- Starting from Windows 10 App Essentials 17.02, NVDA 2016.4 or later will be required.
Changelog:
- In time pickers in Alarms and Clock and similar controls, control labels and values are announced when moving focus to them.
- For Insiders: Initial support for the new universal app version of Windows Defender (UWP). In 16.12.2, button labels will be announced.
- Localization updates.
