Java error in Android 13 when syncing via local file sync #3815
Comments
Thank you very much for opening up this issue! I am currently a bit overwhelmed by the many requests that arrive each week, so please forgive me, if I fail to respond personally. I am still very likely to at least skim read your request and I'll probably try to fix all (real) bugs if possible and I will likely review every single PR being made (please, give me a heads up if you intent to do so) and I will try to work on popular requests (please upvote via thumbs up on the original issue) whenever possible, but trying to respond to every single issue over the last years has been kind of draining and I need to adjust my approach for this project to remain fun for me and to make any progress with actually coding new stuff. Thanks for your understanding! |
I understand your situation and appreciate your effort in this good application a lot. I just wanted to make you aware of this bug, important in my opinion because it prevents saving work.
This is not a new feature request. In any case, of course I'll understand if you cannot focus on it.
Again, my recognition for your amazing work.

Thank you for reporting this! Unfortunately I am unable to reproduce the issue.... :/ |
I appreciate your fast response
Just in case: have you tried not configuring any cloud option for sync but only the local file one?
In my case, I had already configured that the Sync is done to a local file only for the previous versions. The problem I think is with this new version.
|
You seem to be using local file sync. Can you make a screenshot of your sync settings? |
I already sent It in the issue message. I've generated another capture for your convenience. Attached. I cannot configure the local file path in more detail (at least I cannot find how).
Don't hesitate to ask for any other detail that may help you.

I didn't receive a proper screenshot. Maybe because you're replying via email? |
When you select LocalFile is there a android system dialog popping up that asks you to give permission? If not, it is probably the reason, why it is not working. |
Your Environment
Expected Behavior
When synching, either automatically periodically orDuring synchronization with a local file or a remote cloud, whether initiated manually by pressing the sync button at the top of the screen or triggered automatically through periodic syncing, the process should complete successfully
Current Behavior
A popup window appears at the bottomo f the screen reporting the error: "Unknown Sync Error: Error: Java exception was raised during method invocation" I'm attaching a screenshot.Steps to Reproduce (for bugs)
1.click the sync button at the top of the screen
2.The pop up message appears
Please note that this is probably related to the fact that it is not possible to configure the Local file path (I had configured a local file for sync)
Can you reproduce this reliably?
It always happen.Console Output
