Your Environment

  • Version used: 11.0.3.L1A
  • Operating System and version: Android 13
  • Desktop Environment: N/A
  • Browser Name and version: N/A
  • Fairphone 4

Expected Behavior

When synching, either automatically periodically or

During synchronization with a local file or a remote cloud, whether initiated manually by pressing the sync button at the top of the screen or triggered automatically through periodic syncing, the process should complete successfully

Current Behavior

A popup window appears at the bottomo f the screen reporting the error: "Unknown Sync Error: Error: Java exception was raised during method invocation" I'm attaching a screenshot.

20250102 Screenshot_java error

Steps to Reproduce (for bugs)

1.click the sync button at the top of the screen
2.The pop up message appears

Please note that this is probably related to the fact that it is not possible to configure the Local file path (I had configured a local file for sync)

Can you reproduce this reliably?

It always happen.

Console Output

N/A in android AFAIK

Error Log (Desktop only) N/A in Android

Thank you very much for opening up this issue! I am currently a bit overwhelmed by the many requests that arrive each week, so please forgive me, if I fail to respond personally. I am still very likely to at least skim read your request and I'll probably try to fix all (real) bugs if possible and I will likely review every single PR being made (please, give me a heads up if you intent to do so) and I will try to work on popular requests (please upvote via thumbs up on the original issue) whenever possible, but trying to respond to every single issue over the last years has been kind of draining and I need to adjust my approach for this project to remain fun for me and to make any progress with actually coding new stuff. Thanks for your understanding!

You seem to be using local file sync. Can you make a screenshot of your sync settings?

I didn't receive a proper screenshot. Maybe because you're replying via email?

When you select LocalFile is there a android system dialog popping up that asks you to give permission? If not, it is probably the reason, why it is not working.

When I select local file there is no pop-up.
In fact I can select the Local file option but without any further detail.
I attach a screenshot of the SP app permissions screen, just I case might help you.
