Enhance Worklog View: Add/Delete Tasks and Edit Time for Any Date

Firstly, thank you for this outstanding software. I have been using it daily for the past year, and it has greatly improved my productivity!

I really hope this is not a duplicate, but I was not able to find a similar issue.

Problem Statement

While preparing the monthly report, I face challenges with the current functionality of the worklog. The monthly overview is only accessible in the worklog, but I am unable to delete or add tasks directly within this view. Additionally, tasks "without time" occasionally appear, requiring me to manually delete them from the JSON export and reimport (a separate issue).

This process forces me to constantly switch between the worklog overview and the task list to edit or add tasks for previous days, which is quite inefficient.

❔ Possible Solution

  • Allow adding time to tasks for other dates directly within the worklog.
  • Enable adding tasks for specific days directly within the worklog.
  • Provide the option to delete tasks directly from the worklog.

⤴️ Alternatives Considered

  • Allow adding time to tasks for older dates via the create task bar.
  • Enable creating tasks with time for past dates via the task bar.

Thank you for considering these enhancements. Implementing them would significantly streamline the reporting process and improve overall usability. Your attention to this matter is greatly appreciated!

Thank you very much for opening up this issue! I am currently a bit overwhelmed by the many requests that arrive each week, so please forgive me, if I fail to respond personally. I am still very likely to at least skim read your request and I'll probably try to fix all (real) bugs if possible and I will likely review every single PR being made (please, give me a heads up if you intent to do so) and I will try to work on popular requests (please upvote via thumbs up on the original issue) whenever possible, but trying to respond to every single issue over the last years has been kind of draining and I need to adjust my approach for this project to remain fun for me and to make any progress with actually coding new stuff. Thanks for your understanding!
