Your Environment

  • Version used: 7.13.2-1 (AUR)
  • Operating System and version: Archlinux (rolling)
  • Desktop Environment: KDE
  • Browser Name and version: standalone version

The bug also exists on the Android app.

Expected Behavior

Two of my repeating tasks failed to create instances recently.

Task A is set to repeat on 1st of every month. I did not open Super Productivity on 1st and 2nd July. On 3rd July I expected to see the July instance of Task A, but it was missing. I still see the repeat config for Task A under "Scheduled > Repeated tasks".

Similarly, Task B is set to repeat every Friday. I did not open Super Productivity this Friday and Saturday. On Sunday I expected to see this week's instance of Task B, but it was missing. I still see the repeat config for Task B under "Scheduled > Repeated tasks".

For each of these repeating tasks I expected a task instance to be created and shown when Super Productivity was next opened.

Thank you very much for opening up this issue! I am currently a bit overwhelmed by the many requests that arrive each week, so please forgive me, if I fail to respond personally. I am still very likely to at least skim read your request and I'll probably try to fix all (real) bugs if possible and I will likely review every single PR being made (please, give me a heads up if you intent to do so) and I will try to work on popular requests (please upvote via thumbs up on the original issue) whenever possible, but trying to respond to every single issue over the last years has been kind of draining and I need to adjust my approach for this project to remain fun for me and to make any progress with actually coding new stuff. Thanks for your understanding!

I'd be interested in this as well. Repeating tasks are useful for stuff you need to do at the beginning/end of the month like fill out a time sheet for example, but if that day falls on a weekend and you don't open the app, your reminder will just silently disappear into the void. :D

On the other end, for some tasks it doesn't make sense to carry them over, to the next day especially daily tasks, because they would just stack up if you're e.g. on vacation. So there is a difference between tasks which should happen on that day or not at all, and tasks that are more flexible. Maybe we could get a toggle for that?
