Description:

I am facing an issue when trying to open both local files and online available Draw.io files using the "Open with" option. When selecting the Draw.io application to open the document, I encounter the following error:

Error:
Not a diagram file (error on line 1 at column 1: Start tag expected, '<' not found)

Questions:

  • How can I fix this issue?
  • Is there a known workaround for this problem?
  • Has anyone else experienced this issue with the latest version of Draw.io?

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Open a local Draw.io file or an online Draw.io file.
  2. Right-click and select "Open with".
  3. Choose the Draw.io application to open the file.

Expected Behavior:

The Draw.io file should open correctly without any errors.

Actual Behavior:

An error message is displayed:
Not a diagram file (error on line 1 at column 1: Start tag expected, '<' not found)

Additional Information:

  • The issue persists even after updating to the latest version of Draw.io.
  • I have confirmed that the file is a valid Draw.io diagram and has the correct file extension.
  • I have reinstalled and updated Draw.io, but the issue is still not resolved.

Environment:

  • Draw.io version: 26.0.9
  • Operating System: Windows 11
