It seems the latest version doesn't work with youtube.
I noticed you have a youtube plugin in the /plugins directory - how is this used?
Can I help out somehow?

Due to a lot of servers imposing limitations on streaming (e.g. enforcing time limits for transfers) and Youtube changing its own interface a lot Youtube support never really worked well...

The /plugins/youtube.php file is actually from an old version that supported Youtube at that time (by replacing the video player with a custom flash video player). It doesn't work consistently now so the main script does not load it anymore.

I think you can get better results if you try the HTML5 version of Youtube but YMMV (since we don't have perfect support for Range headers or JavaScript yet).
