[QnA] animated gifs

Hi,
I was wondering how to get animated gifs to be displayed, well, animated. When someone sends me a gif, I see the animation in the message preview from the notification bar but not in the chat: The gif remains static and is overlayed with "GIF". Clicking it only redirects me to the "what app do you want to use to open this file" dialogue.
Is there a hidden setting for that somewhere?
