In the "Useful Utilities" section, please talk about OSD.

They are needed to change volume/brightness levels and display related notifications, as well as notifications for Caps Lock and Num Lock.

they are not needed. I don't use them, most people don't use them.

Furthermore, all OSD I've seen was eww / ags, which are mentioned

And how do you change volume and brightness?

awesome-hyprland has a list of OSDs here

And how do you change volume and brightness?

By directly invoking tools like light (brightness) or wpctl (volume). This doesn't display the value to the screen, but it does change it, and that's what matters

Can we add those tools in the wiki then?

I didn't know they existed and ended up writing my own

Came looking for info on OSDs too, so it is a shame the topic was so quickly dismissed.

For anyone else that lands here, I found this repo that lists so many useful/essential additions, including options for OSDs, seemingly in spite of no one ever needing them... 🤨
