Description

I have two screens, one on the laptop (2880x1800@90) and external monitor (2560x1440@75). On the laptop screen, when I open some app, I see artifacts of an old wallpaper. I am using hyprpaper, and tried uninstalling it, but artifacts are still there. On the external monitor everything appears to be fine. When I wanted to take a screenshot to post here, artifacts cannot be seen.

I used to have arch logo wallpaper and when I changed I noticed this:

disabling blur gets rid of it, right?

if disabling blur fixes it, then it might be related to this idk

but that was a while ago so might not be that since this is the first report of it

100% sure this is not some kind of weird burn-in/image retention issue on the actual display?
Try different hues/colors and see if you can get it to appear, like on this page

Yeah, I am sure. When I quit Hyprland and end up on black tty everything is fine.

black is the key. what if you end up on a gray one or white?

You think the background color matters?

if we're talking about OLED burn-in, yes, definitely.

I once had my wallpaper temporarily burnt in on my laptop and I would see it on gray.

You can't see it on black because the pixels are off.

It is not oled display. I am sure the problem is with Hyprland because I can also see artifacts if previously opened windows, which can change. Once I opened reddit, and there was an artifact of reddit logo. When I did reboot, it was gone. Really wierd.
