Monocle Layout - Fixing Rendering Issues

This was previously surfaced under this issue.

The main problem at hand here is that windows have to resize themselves when switching between maximized windows. There are graphical glitches when switching between maximized windows, where this should not be a problem.

IDK if I got it correctly but

#mimic monocle mode from BSPWM 
bind = $mainMod , backslash , fullscreen, 1
bind = $mainMod , F, fullscreen, 0

this should work for you, \ maximizes/goes to monocle mode and F goes full screen
you can switch between windows in monocle mode like usual, for me to go to window on left it's mod+l and right is mod+h

if that's the only thing you want, why is this titled "monocle layout"? It has nothing to do with monocle itself, which is achievable?

My main reason for titling this as "monocle layout" is to hopefully consolidate the many previous issues I found into one, and I'm hoping this title will make it easier for others to search for the new discussion.

I suppose that's a fair comment, but IMO monocle layout is not achievable, as it's has rendering bugs. If there weren't any rendering issues when using fullscreen, 1, I'd agree with it being builtin.

From what I've seen, this is a blocker for myself and many others who won't adopt Hyprland until it's supported. Is there a reason there has been so much push back for not fixing the rendering issues using the above method? Would it be easier to add an entirely new layout which handles the window sizing in a different manner, or would this be easier to fix using the current monocle workflow?

there has been no pushback, I just didn't work on it because I worked on other things. Monocle layout itself makes little sense because it's achievable with dwindle or master so it doesnt matter.
