Blur no longer works with JetBrains IDEs when native Wayland support is enabled (v0.51.0 regression)

Tested Rider, RustRover, and IDEA Community Edition, problem exists in all 3. Problem only occurs when Wayland support is turned on.

Edit: The Java boot runtime used by the IDE is also a factor: the problem only seems to occur when using 21.0.8, see this comment

Config wise this is enough to repro, have played around with various blur params but nothing seems to help.

Add -Dawt.toolkit.name=WLToolkit to custom VM options, which you can get to in a few ways:

• From the welcome screen: Configure (down the bottom left) -> Edit Custom VM Options...
• With a project open: Help -> Edit Custom VM Options...
• ~/.config/JetBrains/something/something64.vmoptions (where something depends on which IDE/version)

Hmm, tried IDEA and had to launch it twice after switching to Wayland but otherwise it worked 🤔

FWIW I did change the regex I was using to set the opacity to ^jetbrains-.+$, previously was ^jetbrains-\w+$ which didn't match jetbrains-idea-ce

This only happens with the Java 21.0.8 builds of JBR; they might still be defaulting to 21.0.7 out of the box. If you Ctrl+Shift+A and search for "Choose Boot Java Runtime for the IDE", and select the 21.0.8 build at the top of the list (21.0.8b1038.73 for me currently), the blur should be gone after a restart. FWIW, it also happens when running in Vulkan mode (-Dsun.java2d.vulkan=true).

Nice find. Tested it out myself and confirmed blur works when using the latest bundled 21.0.7 (21.0.7b1038.58), but doesn't work with either of the two 21.0.8 versions I tried (the default I was already on, 21.0.8b1038.73, and a slightly earlier one 21.0.8b1038.68). I'll add a link to your comment in the original post.

I just tested with 21.0.9b1038.76 (under Vulkan) and the issue is still present. Is there any other info we can provide to help resolve this?
