Could be or not - its been like for that quite for a while also happens on Nvidia. Happened after aquamarine was marged. You can check also YouTube for gnome/hyprland/kwin test results same behavior as me I'll share test/live recording whenever I'm free.

Performance has been kind of hit or miss for me.. Sometimes it's about the same, but other times it drops quite a bit in certain games. On KWin everything runs fine, but on Hyprland I've noticed some issues. For example, in The Witcher 3 Next Gen (DX11), it seemed okay, but I'll also test Minecraft with shaders to see how that holds up.
With CS2, I saw a noticeable FPS drop — about 50 FPS lower. On KWin (16:10 aspect ratio), I was averaging around 387 FPS on max settings (not counting smokes), but on Hyprland the average dropped to around 322 FPS.
I’m planning to run full benchmarks and record the whole process — including switching over to Hyprland — with a camera pointed at the monitor so you can see exactly what's happening in real time that I was recording.

Experiencing performance drop when using Hyprland on an AMD RX 9070 XT paired with a Ryzen 7 7800X3D.
Even with all visual/fancy effects disabled, the games eats on average 15–30 FPS, and sometimes dips even lower.
When switching to KWin (KDE) or Mutter (GNOME), performance is normal and stable — no noticeable frame drops on avg fps
It’s as if Hyprland completely eats my FPS compared to other compositors.
