Installing hyprland plugins without home manager?

The plugin only shows snippets to installation plugins via home manager. wayland.windowManager option only exists in home manager. The installation doc shows programs.hyprland.enable = true;. ideally I'd like to add plugins under programs.hyprland too but there's no nix option for that.

Use the NixOS module from the flake. It has that option.

I should add it to Nixpkgs tbh.

Is it present in your generated config in /etc/xdg/hypr/hyprland.conf?

Idk how to install hyprshade either.

You need to create a derivation for it, as can be seen on https://wiki.hypr.land/Nix/Plugins/#building-plugins-with-nix.

This is a working method I found for installing plugins like hypr dynamic cursors. I never got programs.hyprland.programs working.

Flake.nix:
