DPMS Off causes workspaces to jump around on monitors

Issue

I've set hypridle to turn of the screen after a few minutes. The problem is when the screen wakes back up again, the workspaces are not where they're supposed to be.

For example, workspace 3 should be on DP-1 as specified in the config but it moves to DP-2 after waking up the screen. And so do other workspaces. They move around on multiple monitors. And the windows move with the workspaces. So if firefox was open on workspace 3 on DP-1, it would be on workspace 3 but on DP-2 after waking up the screen.

I'm assuming it's because the monitor gets disconnected a while after DPMS off but I'm not sure.

What I've already tried

I've tried using the monitor descriptions instead of DP-1/2 but that did not resolve the issue.

likely. Some stupid monitors do this. Hyprland moves the workspaces to the monitors that aren't disabled. Workspaces get shuffled a bit.

@vaxerski I have two monitors both of which are the exact same model. So if they were getting disabled, won't both of them be disabled? Is there something we can do to prevent the workspaces from getting shuffled?

things can't happen all at once, one of them will turn off first (even if by milliseconds)

IIRC there already is a system to try to guess the previous monitor, but I guess its not perfect.

You can bind workspaces if it's that important, I guess

This is STUPID but may i ask, is a 2009 monitor (an acer one) a stupid one since you mentioned

workspace keywords only accept monitor port names, using descriptions is fixed in -git. Check latest git if it works.
