Describe the bug
fuzzel
when opening fuzzel, the program is focused until I move the mouse a little. Idk if it's hyprland that focus it by default but I think that it shouldn't be the case.
Fuzzel's focus behavior is already configurable
keyboard-focus
Keyboard focusing mode, valid modes are exclusive and on-demand.
exclusive locks keyboard focus to fuzzel, receiving all keyboard input until closed.
on-demand makes fuzzel focus like a regular window, allowing other windows to take keyboard focus by
e.g. clicking on them. By default switching keyboard focus will immediately close fuzzel, using
exit-on-keyboard-focus-loss=no allows interacting with other windows while fuzzel is open.
Default: exclusive
(in the example below it's set to "on-demand" otherwise I wouldn't be able to click the button again to close fuzzel)
here I've made a script in my bar and when clicking it 2 times (without moving the mouse a little) it select the first entry :
2025-08-07_19-08-1754588745.mp4
expected behavior : fuzzel should never be focused until the mouse hover it
walker
Similar behavior with walker (with force_keyboard_focus = false). It's not the same as the mouse can't click things behind but I think that it's related
Notice that when I switch workspace the focus is set to the terminal until I slightly move the mouse.
2025-08-07_19-08-1754589572.mp4
expected behavior (i dont use walker so idk) : the same as fuzzel ? It feels wrong to force focus it when moving the mouse since force_keyboard_focus is disabled
Reproduction steps
open fuzzel (or walker) with keyboard-focus -> on-demand
open fuzzel and don't move the mouse
click, it select the first entry and shouldn't
If you mouse the mouse, it clicks where you've clicked
open walker with force_keyboard_focus = false
open walker
switch workspace and don't move the mouse
walker is not focused
mouse the mouse
walker is focused and shouldn't
