Monitors get duplicated when coming back from sleep

I'm using hypridle to manage me sleep settings, when going into suspend and coming back my monitor list gets duplicated:

I am not sure if the issue is with hypridle or hyprland, but calling hyprctl dispatch dpms on results in an error: Couldn't commit output {}.

I've been trying to find an answer for a few days now, looked at Arch's documentation, Google, ChatGPT, etc and cannot find an answer on what might be going on.

I'm new to Linux desktop environments, so maybe I am not looking at the right place so asking for help or direction here.

the issue is with the gpu driver, I'm afraid.
