Currently there's no way to disable XWayland unless compiled accordingly. Hyprland should allow disabling XWayland entirely similar to GNOME.

There's a config option under XWayland. Just doing xwayland:enabled = false should be enough.

I'm not familiar with how gnome handles it, so this might not fully fit your needs

My bad. I set the flag, didn't restart, saw the xwayland process, and just assumed it spawns but disallows anyone using it.
